People don’t think you can find high-quality electronics at thrift shops, but if you know where to go for what its not hard to find what you’re looking for. While thrifting I’ve found plasma televisions, N64 games in shrink wrap, home theater systems, Akai reel-to-reel players, a weltron 2001 8-track player, and a bunch of other electronics if you were to buy them used on Amazon or eBay you’d be spending at least $100.

Each and every week I visit a minimum of four or five different thrift stores in my area looking for both current and vintage electronics. Because I have consistently done that for about three years I know where to go to find what, so I’ve created this calculator to share my knowledge with you. By using this tool you’ll be able to figure what thrift stores you need to go in order to buy the electronics you’re hunting for.

What type of electronics are you looking for?

Personally, I've had my best finding the things you're looking for by frequenting Savers/ValueVillage.
Around the midwest where I am located GoodWills typically have a few shelves of books and media in general.
Remember, at thrift stores you're allowed to plug in electronics to see if they actually work or not.
